Here's my Mayo.
And this is the receipt for my purchase.
That's right, I spent almost $12 on a jar of mayo. Granted, it is the big bottle, but I think I paid under $5 for the same one in the States. It's not even a matter of being able to buy another brand. For some reason, Aussies love to put sugar in their mayo, so pretty much every local brand tastes like Miracle Whip. I think I may have to start whipping up a batch of my own homebrew every week. And, just in case anyone thinks we've taken to eating baby sheep, a lamington is actually just a chocolate covered spongecake. We just can't get into the lamb thing.

It depends on your perspective. I pay 14.99 for a 12 pack of Full Sail Pale Ale but I could pay 4.99 for a 12 pack of natty light.
Omigod, what the hell kind of mayo is that??? Coles has Hellman's for %5.99 I think, but it is a small jar.
Jeff - I totally agree with you. If I buy the crappy mayo then every time I make a sandwich I think about how much better it would taste with the real stuff.
FL Girl - It should be made with eggs from the golden goose at that price. Alas, it's just regular Best Foods / Hellmans. Woolies doesn't carry it so I make a special trip to Coles; I think the small bottle is around $5, this is the bigger bottle.
