Tonight our elf Fred will fly to the North Pole, and won't come back until the day after Thanksgiving 2009. We'll miss you Fred - you sure have been a lot of fun. I know that there are elves all over the world just like you, but you're our elf and you're very special to us. You even followed us from Washington all the way to Sydney! Like clockwork, every night, you've flown back to the North Pole to report to Santa if Mitchell has been naughty or nice. You've always returned just before he wakes up, always sitting in a different place. Thanks for keeping an eye on Mitchell, and reinforcing that Santa sees everything. But most of all, thanks for the joy that you've brought us, by allowing us to experience the magic of Christmas through the eyes of a five year old. See you next year.
